Who is behind JMRKT

My name is Justin Mkrtcjan, I run JMRKT alone. I'm studying production and logistics for a master's degree and also work in industry.
I am not a security researcher, not a cryptographer and not an investment advisor. What I can do is collect data in a structured manner and make it comparable - and reveal where the data ends. That's exactly what JMRKT is: no test reports, but catalogs with proven features.
On this page
Why JMRKT exists
It started with the search for a hardware wallet. I almost only found lists of the best: the test winner differed depending on the page, reasons were missing, and the same statements appeared word for word in several places. What I wanted was a table — which device has Bluetooth, which firmware is open source, which works with the iPhone.
The same problem exists with crypto exchanges, with fee models, with almost every product in this environment. JMRKT is an attempt to do things differently on a category-by-category basis: comprehensible characteristics with a source, instead of a ranking list whose origins no one can check. In the end, the choice is made by the reader.
What categories there are
There are currently three comparisons online with the same quality bar: hardware wallets, crypto cards and crypto exchanges. New categories only go live when the database has the same depth - better later than halfway. Unfinished pages deliberately remain undiscoverable via Google.
How JMRKT is financed
Through provider partner programs. If you purchase or sign up through a link on this page, I will receive a commission. This does not change the price for you.
I'll say openly what it currently looks like: I'm in the partner programs of the listed hardware wallet manufacturers - so there isn't a brand in this category from which I don't earn anything. This is not the case in other categories, and there will continue to be products in the catalog for which there is no affiliate program or for which I have not applied for one. A product is included because it belongs to the category, not because it is compensated.
The independence of this site does not lie in the selection of providers, but in their treatment:
No ranking
There is no test winner and no rankings one to ten. This means that there is no position that can be influenced by the level of commission.
Same data depth for everyone
Every product goes through the same catalog fields. No entry gets more space or more benevolent wording because the commission is higher.
Marking on the link
Affiliate links are marked where they are, not just on this page.
There are disadvantages
Missing functions, closed firmware, unfavorable fees or unsubstantiated provider information are noted as well as strengths - even for providers with a partner program.
What that doesn't rule out: I earn from purchases and registrations that come about through this site. If you think this is a conflict of interest, that's understandable - the sources for each feature are included precisely so that you can independently verify the information.
Where the data comes from
Each feature in the catalog has a source — manufacturer documentation, official product or fee page, firmware repository. Anything that cannot be proven is listed as unknown in the catalog and is not valued.
Provider information that I cannot independently verify is marked as such. This particularly applies to security features such as built-in Secure Elements: I repeat what the manufacturer states and do not claim to have checked it.
Own devices and accounts. I own a Ledger Flex. I have not used the other products in the catalog myself. There are no practical tests on JMRKT, no durability assessments and no statements about operation from our own experience - the comparisons are based on documented features.
What JMRKT is not
No investment advice and no purchase recommendation. The catalogs say which product has which features — not what you should buy or which cryptocurrency you should invest in. This decision depends on circumstances that I do not know.
Data checked
Occasion-related: with information from readers, with noticeable changes to the offer and with regulatory developments. There is currently no fixed weekly or monthly cycle. If available, the date of the last content change and the date of the last factual check are listed separately on the product or article; If a date is old, the information must be treated accordingly.
