Editorial assessment

ether.fi Cash and MetaMask Card connect card payments to a wallet or vault workflow. Supported balances, regional availability and ongoing costs are decisive. Self-custody removes neither smart-contract risk nor the card partner’s terms.

ether.fi Cash tiers rewards by monthly use and membership. Its starting rate is therefore not a fixed cashback rate for all spending. The USD card currency, conversion and your selected level’s terms belong in the same cost calculation.

For MetaMask Card Virtual and Metal differ in annual fees and ATM access, among other things. The current FAQ lists Virtual ATM withdrawals only for the US. Older FX and ATM values in the catalogue are therefore not a reliable promise for a German or European account; its regional card terms govern.

Compare eligible spending, caps and fees for the same region and card tier. The starting rates alone do not establish a higher net benefit here.

For these crypto cards, also compare the path from your existing balance to the card payment: supported tokens, network and any conversion.
