Editorial assessment
Hyperliquid is a crypto exchange as a Perp-DEX with an on-chain order book and an active pro community. Access is wallet-only without KYC; there is no SEPA deposit and no classic bank on ramp. The setup is fundamentally different from broker apps or regulated spot CEX: first wallet and on-chain balances, then perpetuals. Anyone who wants to deposit euros via bank transfer and trade immediately is in the wrong category.
The documented Perps base names maker and taker rates according to Docs; API and sub-accounts support structured processes including TWAP-like order logic. Fees do not replace risk analysis: leverage, funding, liquidity and market movements determine the outcome of a position far more than the base fee. App and recurring investment plan are missing. Liquidations can completely wipe out the stake — regardless of community size or order book visibility. Fiat must be brought on-chain in advance.
MiCA status is unclear. Self-custody shifts responsibility to the user; it does not eliminate phishing, false transactions or smart contract risks. Proof of Reserves is reported as self-attested. A tax report DE is missing - recording the trades is your own work. Card deposit and PayPal are not provided. If you are looking for a regulated Euro spot entry, compare authorized spot brokers or Spot CEX, not this Perp DEX. The separation between fiat brokers and on-chain perps is the defining feature of the product category here.
The curated one Direct comparison Aster vs Hyperliquid keeps the deposit, fee logic and tax workflow of the two platforms side by side - without an overall grade.
Another on-chain Perp interface is Lighter. The characteristics table makes the order book, API, no SEPA deposit, sub-accounts and leverage risk visible - for a DEX comparison without an overall rating and without a blanket suitability statement.
