As a hardware wallet, the Blockstream Jade is the compact open source signer of the Jade line for Bitcoin and Liquid Network, with a color display, USB and Bluetooth. It differs from the Jade Plus in that it lacks a QR air gap and a device battery; If you want an isolated QR signature, go to the Plus model in the same family, not this basic model.
Instead of a classic secure element, Jade relies on the blind Oracle PIN model: optional self-hosted infrastructure, documented in the cons. USB and Bluetooth are provided, iOS, Android and desktop OS are supported. Ethereum, Solana and Air-Gap are missing from the features - the classification is BTC plus Liquid, not multi-chain all-rounder. In everyday life, the key remains on the device and amounts are confirmed on the display. Anyone expecting CC or FIPS certification will find no formal information in the characteristics. Blind Oracle is not a set-and-forget: hosting and failure are part of the planning of the PIN model.
Specific RRP values are in the purchase characteristics; In terms of price, the basic model is below touch air gap devices and below the Plus with battery and camera. This is not a bargain statement, but rather the classification of the entry level compared to the extended Jade Plus.
Opposite the BitBox02 Jade is more focused on Bitcoin plus Liquid and replaces the Secure Element with Blind Oracle; Compared to Coldcard, the PSBT air gap path is missing, but Bluetooth and iOS are added.
