Overview

Editorial assessment

As a hardware wallet, the Ledger Flex is the e-ink touch model of the Ledger series between the Nano generation and Stax: 2,8 inch display, USB-C, Bluetooth, NFC and multi-asset including Solana. Nano S Plus and Nano X remain cheaper without touch E-Ink; Stax is in the higher price range with a larger display and Qi charging.

Firmware is proprietary, Ledger Live client is only partially open - if you expect open source, compare Trezor Safe or BitBox. Air gap missing; Signature runs into the ledger ecosystem via USB or radio. iOS, Android and desktop OS are documented. Secure Element and CC-EAL claims are manufacturer information.

In the catalog the price range is around EUR 249 - mid-range, upper class, no nano entry level. This is the RRP classification for Touch plus NFC, not a quality assessment. E-Ink touch is readable, but reacts differently than LCD or OLED - if you expect touch from your cell phone, you should check the operation separately.

Opposite Trezor Safe 5 shares Touch in the middle segment; Ledger relies on NFC and E-Ink, Trezor on open firmware. Compared to Keystone, there is no QR air gap, but there is a Ledger app ecosystem. NFC complements Bluetooth and USB — three connection paths mean three configuration paths in Ledger Live.

The characteristics table remains the source; This text classifies Flex position in the ledger family, price framework and software transparency - without individual recommendations.

If you're hesitating between Flex and Nano

In Direct comparison Ledger Flex vs Ledger Stax The form factor, connection and backup of the two hardware wallets are directly opposite - the basis for an objective comparison without an overall grade.

For comparison with other hardware wallets, it is worth using the characteristics table plus the comparison links at the end of the classification.
