Overview

Editorial assessment

The Krak Card is the Mastercard debit crypto card program with five hold levels — Starter to Max — for the UK/EEA. Custodial via Krak/Kraken; no monthly card subscription in the documented features. Saveback starts at 0% at the entry level and increases via portfolio hold (≥EUR 200 to ≥50k €), not via VIP status or monthly fee. Lite from ≥EUR 200 (0.5%), Pro from ≥EUR 1000 (1%), Max from ≥50k € with 2%. The hold thresholds are the actual price of the higher columns.

FX is reported as $ 0 plus spread — not a pure 0% promise with no spread indication. ATM: 0 $Krak-Fee according to features; Saveback without a documented cap. Apple Pay and Google Pay are occupied; Cashout BTC or EUR. Network Mastercard. Higher levels are not free in the sense of hold-free: Lite and Pro require documented portfolio thresholds, even if there is no separate card subscription. If you don't want to hold the hold, stay with 0% saveback.

Custodial means exchange custody: funds are held by the provider, not in a self-custody wallet. Hold scaling links rewards to inventory and distinguishes Krak from subscription or VIP models. Spread and hold belong in the same everyday calculation as the saveback rate.

In Direct comparison Krak Card vs Ledger CL Card Saveback, FX and custody of the entry levels are in direct comparison - without ranking.

If you are looking for a fixed USDG saveback with VIP scaling, compare them OKX Card with five VIP columns and a tight entry cap. Hold levels, FX and saveback per column are in the level table under the profile - Starter to Max next to each other.

Here's how to compare actual benefits: Separate inventory held from a fee spent. A hold is not a withdrawal, but can involve custody and price risks. Only count on the cashback level you actually achieve. The current Krak card page indicates a variable spread when converting between assets and possible third-party ATM fees (access 19.09.2026). Example calculation with freely chosen assumptions: EUR 500 legitimate expenses for 1% result in EUR 5 gross cashback. Spread, excluded sales and other costs must be taken into account separately; this is not a return forecast.
